The University Press is the printing and publishing house of the University of Medical Sciences & Technology. It is an integral part of the University and has similar objectives in advancing knowledge, education, learning and research. The University Press serves the academic community and promotes the University of Medical Sciences & Technology by the publication of outstanding works of learning and scholarship that both reflect and enhance the University's authority and reputation. The press was founded in the year 2000 primarily to publish books and research being carried out within the University. Today the press is a national concern, publishing works by authors and scholars from all the walks of life in Sudan. The press views its link and relationship with the University as an integral part of its future development. The University press has become one of the largest in the country and has published text books for use by academics teaching in higher education as well as general interest publications. All of the traditional publishing processes are carried out in-house and the press has well -established editorial, production, design, trade and marketing departments. At present 17 people are employed by the University Press.
