General Requirements

The minimum entrance requirements for admission to the University are either a Sudanese
Secondary School Certificate or its equivalent with at least seven passes in seven
subjects obtained in the same examination period.
In the case of O-Level/IGCSE, a pass in each basic sciences subjects (Biology, Chemistry,
Physics, Mathematics & English Language) + any two other subjects which qualify
a candidate for admission. (Obtained at one and the same examination). Faculty Requirements:
Having satisfied the minimum percentage set for admission to a faculty, preference
in selection of students will be given to those who perform best in the five subjects
required by each faculty.
Applications of candidates holding university degrees are not acceptable. Applications
from students transferring from other universities may be accepted depending on
availability of places.
Candidates applying to be transferred to the University should fulfill the following
requirements:
S/he was not dismissed from another university for academic reasons or misconduct.
His/her School Certificate should fulfill the minimum requirements foCandidates

to the University as well as the requirements of the Faculty to be admitted to.
Date of sitting for the School Certificate should be the same as that of the batch

last registered with.

Student will continue by his/her first year tuition fees up to completion of
his/her studies (i.e. will not be affected by any increment, if so made).
Accommodation: The University provides accommodation for students with full services (accommodation + transportation to and from the University). Annual amount charged for the residence as follows: (Subject to change):
1. Female residence: Blue Nile (SDG: 6,200.00) & Rumbak: (SDG: 5,000.00).
2. Male residence: Suakin: (SDG: 5,000.00).

Application to the University is through the Admission Office at the Ministry of
Higher Education.
It can also be directly to the University, and the applicant will be advised to
fill in the Ministry of Higher Education admission form.

later than the end of the fourth week of the first semester of the year in which
the applicant wishes to be admitted to the University.
An accepted student who fails to report to the University within the first one week
of admission, may, subject to the availability of places, be denied the chance of
admission.
No candidate shall be admitted to the University until s/he has. - Signed the registration
form. - Signed an undertaking to abide by the University’s rules and regulations.
- Paid all fees and deposits, as required by the University.
All students will be required to undergo an interview and a medical examination
before admission to the University and certified physically fit.
Signed an undertaking to have been vaccinated against HEPATITIS B.
A dismissed student from one of the University’s faculties will not be permitted
to apply to join any of the other faculties.
In order to be eligible for the award of a degree, diploma or a certificate of the
University, a candidate shall have completed residence in the University of at least
50% of the total prescribed period.
