Dr Annette Kuesel visited University of Medical Sciences and Technology in the period
02/12/2011-06/12/20011. Dr Kuesel delivered a total of seven lectures pharmacy undergraduate
students in their fourth and fifth years , MSc students studying in their first
and second years of Clinical Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Analysis as well as
MSc Students studying Tropical Medicine and infectious diseases, as shown in the
list below:
- Drug Design and Assessment of efficacy, safety and potency of new drugs ( 2 lectures)
– Undergraduate finalist Pharmacy students.
- Proposal Writing (2 lecture)- Undergraduate finalist and year 4 Pharmacy students,
MSc Clinical Pharmacology students.
- Drug development ( 2 lectures) – MSc Pharmaceutical Analysis students in their
1st and final year and MSc Clinical Pharmacology students in their final year.
- Onchoceriasis and its control in Sub-Saharan Africa- Past successes and future opportunities-
MSc Tropical Medicine and infectious diseases.
Dr Annette was shown interesting sites in Khartoum such as Omdurman market where
she was shown traditional Sudanese artefacts and clothing. She also visited the
Ethnographic and National museums in Khartoum, Khalifa House in Omdurman, and Kitchener’s
gun boat “The Melik” at the Blue Nile Club.
