The university has targeted the needy as well as the knowledge seekers, and those who work in River blindness and Guinea worm control. Now it graduates highly qualified sisters and technicians which has historically been a big problem in Sudan. Thank God for all this benefits of UMST, as well as its charity and achievements.

God wanted the dream to come true, so Professor Mamoun Homeida launched this institute in 1996 and by his determination, ambition and capability, this institute has become part of teaching, educational advancement, and prestigious scientific research in our country. It is the name on everybody's lips of those who want their children to receive a distinguished education. The university has scored success after success and has been recognised by international and national teaching institutions. Congratulations Professor Mamoun Homeida and all his colleagues in the administration and faculty and congratulations to all of those who have learnt here and graduated as good people in the community.

I am telling the truth that UMST in its short years and its long achievements now occupies a prestigious position among the biggest universities in Sudan, in addition to being internationally recognised by the British universities union. Why not when the university has been distinguished from its dawn by unprecedented academic and administrative commitment? Also it provides the community with qualified professionals in different healthcare positions – apart from medicine – like nursing, public health and other sciences, in addition to charity work in the community. For every success there is a reason - a leader alert and knowledgeable to its goals is the cause for this uniqueness and excellence.

Ten years has elapsed since the university began amid challenges and obstacles but nobody has been able to stop it. That is because it is built on stone and because its pioneering teacher Momoun Homeida is a well-known man who has turned the stone into a road and is moving along it with well-defined goals, and delivering the high-minded message of learning. Mamoun Homeida didn't say that he would provide honour and science to all … but he has done so already. I send my congratulations to the real man who stands on the apex of the university pyramid and also his colleagues and respected teachers and his students, his sons and daughters studying at UMST.
