Universities across the world are being judged by their ability to do first class research and publish in reputable journals.

It is the intention of UMST to lead in this respect.

 To promote research, it is decided that a prize of 2000 SDG will be awarded to any staff member who publishes in an international journal and meets the following criteria:

1. He/She should be a permanent staff member of UMST.

  2. The research should be done in the premises of UMST.

  3. The department / faculty should be aware of the research activity being carried out.

4. It is preferable that the members of the department / faculty be involved in the research.

5. The published paper should be accepted / published in an American or European journal (on-line journals are also accepted).

 6. The address of authors should be solely UMST.

7. The paper should be a full original article. Case reports, letters, editorials, review papers are not considered for the prize.

8. Clear acknowledgement of the UMST funding among others should be included.
