Diploma programmes

1) Diploma of Dental Technology

Programme duration: three years.

The school follows a curriculum based on practical training given through lectures, seminars and laboratory work.

Practical training makes up 60% and 40% is assigned to theoretical studies. The eighth batch will graduate this year with 15 graduates.

The total number of graduates is 28. The school has modern, well-equipped laboratories.

 
 


2) Diploma in NGO Management

Programme duration: 3 months

The goal of the program is to develop the abilities and skills of those who would like to work or who work in non-governmental organizations and humanitarian or volunteer organizations. 452 participants graduated from this program.



3) Humanitarian Assistance Program

This training program developed in collaboration with the Centre for International Health and Cooperation (CIHC) - New York, USA. The program concentrate on the key elements in professionalizing humanitarian action, basic principles of humanitarian assistance, and introduction to the roles and mandates of the UN and international agencies and other relative topics, 64 students graduated from this program.



4) Diploma in Hospital Administration 

This programme aims to support the managerial ability of hospital managers in effectively managing their institutes, as well as improving the capacities and skills of the students to improve performance, services and make use of resources effectively.



5) Edexcel

- a British education organisation concerned with teaching and training all over the world

- it awards recognition to universities who meet their stringent requirements

- collaborates with British universities to provide bachelor degrees, a diploma and short courses in Management

- UMST has a licence to represent this organisation in Sudan in Management and Computer Science Programmes

- UMST is working in partnership with the University of Greenwich in London to offer undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and to guarantee teaching quality based on international standards.



6) Diploma in Research Methodology

The programme started in 2006. It aims to help Sudanese researchers and others to conduct scientific research at an international level. Qualified teachers and visiting scientists teach and develop the curriculum.

 Duration of study: 6 months, consisting of theoretical and practical study. This year there will be 300 graduates.



7) Diploma in Family Medicine

This diploma started in 2009 in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, KSA. The duration of the diploma is 13 months of which six months is spent in Sudan on theoretical and practical study, and seven months practical study in KSA. The diploma aims to graduate doctors qualified in the field of family medicine. The number of graduates is 22.



8) Diploma in HIV/AIDS 

The programme aims to train the largest possible number of people working in the field of HIV and AIDS in the scientific aspects of this topic.

The programme aims to spread knowledge about AIDS and its dangers and promote a culture of dealing positively with people who live with HIV.

 Duration of study: 6 months



9) Diploma in Epidemiology and Biostatistics

The programme aims to enable students to acquire basic information about Epidemiology and Biostatistics and to use statistics about diseases in the field of preventative medicine.

Duration of study: 6 month
